gene winfields PACIFICA
not sure what the entire story is on the econoline but from what i understand gene winfield built it early in the days of his customizer fame days and spent the last few years recreating a completely different truck and slightly different version of it. it just popped up at SEMA for a debut i believe. reguardless if any of what im saying is accurate....its badass! check out the slant on the lower area of the side windows.

Wow, now that's a piece of art!!! It never ceases to amaze me what vision some people have when it comes to thinking out of the box

Take in consideration that the first one was built shortly after they were for sale new. In the sixties and seventies this custom truck would have been like a Damn spaceship. Not all together my taste....but I definitely appreciate all that is going on.

Re: gene winfields PACIFICA
what is going in in the truck bed? under the tilt up mirror panel? stereo stuff? storage?
I thought maybe the engine was relocated but in the last pic we see it’s visible in original location.

I love it. The asymmetrical design was a short-lived customizer trick in the '60s. It seems like an odd quirk now, but it was radical at the time.

Looks like the cab has been sectioned too. A few inches taken out the whole way around.

It's not my taste either, but I appreciate the work and the thought that went into creating something this unique. I think there's ideas you can pull out of seeing something like this that you might not have ever thought of if you hadn't seen it.

I went to one of his metal shaping seminars a couple of weeks ago. We got to check out some of his cars, including the Pacifica.
You can see the rear suspension when that panel in the truck bed lifts up. The whole drive train is out of a mid-nineties T-Bird.

Funny you should mention spaceship. Gene also designed a shuttle craft for Star Trek in 1967

Theres also a slight blue fade at the bottom of the truck where its darker. Every time I looked at the truck I found more things I hadnt noticed before. For instance the seats are Fiero but the headrest and top have been cut down to make them low back.

Re: gene winfields PACIFICA
The man is a legend and is still working at a ripe old age. I wish I could meet him at some show. To me, Gene deserves more press than Barris for example, but I'm not knocking barris.
Gene is just the coolest...
