Post by mrsweden Fri Nov 29, 2013 12:27 pm

I have a chevy sportsvan-66 and in the front is it a hole. it in the middle of the front between the headlights. Is this something original and i miss parts or have a previous owner done something. I can`t find anything about it on the internet.

Is there a Chevy Bowtie emblem there? If not that may be a hole for it.

My guess is it was a radio antenna, maybe to judge the front end ?? It would be a easy or a lazy place to put it.

You also have an extra hole in the grill, like others said could have been from anything over the years.

Did you pick that one up in Florida and have it shipped to Sweden?....I recognize the front chain bumper as one I considered when I was looking for mine a couple of months age.

Good luck with it and Welcome!...lots of good info here. Kevin

    Welcome Mr. Sweden!

I'm happy to see another Sportvan Deluxe go to a good owner! What got a young guy like you interested in a van like this?! Usually most of us have owned them in the past when we were younger.

That hole in yours is certainly not stock.  Are there any other parts you're looking for? They are probably pretty hard to find where you are! That van will sure turn some heads in your far away land!

I am of Swedish heritage and would love to see Sweden some day. In the summer. Smile

Thanks!!! For 5-6 years ago one of my car magazine here in Sweden had a pretty big repotage about these Vans. I got hooked inastantly when i saw the pictures. I´ve had some other old american cars before but these vans was alwyas in the back of my head and I found a company that could help me with the transport and all the paper work that was needed to buy a car from the US. What I know it`s mine "66" and one Chevy "68" here in Sweden. Let me Know if you one day will come over here and I can take you for a ride in my van to one of ours swap meets we have here. I think it`s bit of difference to the ones you have.  Laughing
