Re: WHAT SIZE TIRES WILL FIT
One of the reasons the WHEEL size has increased is because bigger WHEELS allow for bigger brakes on any applicaton. In order to get bigger brakes, they use bigger wheels and then to keep the gearing better they had to reduce the tire diameter in order to come back the other way....... So now low profile tires are the norm. Bigger WHEEL size will allow anything to fit and so there is no issues there if that is what you mean. How can more wheel to caliper clearance be any issue?
Personally,, I dont like the looks of the big rims, to me it just doesnt look good.
Like always.......... You have to juggle, what will hit what??? Will the caliper hit the rim, if the tire width and offset is wrong will it hit the lower front corner of the front wheel well and or also will it hit a sway bar or the drag link,,, or the springs, will I get full lock. Personally,, with the hassles I hear already on 14" I would stay with 15" and call it good..... Just my nickel.

Re: WHAT SIZE TIRES WILL FIT
D&D disc brakes will fit 14" rims, but may not fit all 14" rims.

Re: WHAT SIZE TIRES WILL FIT
Not all rims are constructed the same to include standard steel wheels. The way the pieces are stamped out of metal and where and how they are put together controls how much clearance there is inside of them. The same with "CAST" aluminum rims.
My AMC conversion originally has 14" wheel sizes, but it also will not fit INSIDE all 14" wheels. The caliper is what hits the inside of the wheel, and the size and placment of the rotor dictates where the caliper will sit.

Re: WHAT SIZE TIRES WILL FIT
I used brakes from these guys on my 66 fury and liked them. I could stay with my 14" wheels. They list
kits for falcons. Not sure if they are completely the same as our vans. Here is the link though

Re: WHAT SIZE TIRES WILL FIT
The offset of the wheel also has a big effect on what size tires will fit. my truck came with 245/60s mounted on 14X6 aftermarket wheels and seemed to be clearing everything.
