Re: dodge/chevy doghouse question
If you can get that doghouse GET IT. I have heard they are a little bigger than a 2nd gen chevy. Plus they are made so the sides come off. And the sides don't come off the 2nd gen chevy. Maybe Leadfoot will see this. He used a Dodge doghouse in this 1st gen chevy and was happy with it.

Re: dodge/chevy doghouse question
i put one in my 65 , i liked the idea of it being able to be removed
to fix or show things
granted i didn't need the room for the 4 banger i put in it
but also having the option for something MUCH bigger was nice too
the width and length of a dodge box is just about perfect
only thing i had to do really was make a plate for the back panel because of the "hump hole" in the back end of the dodge box
height of the sides is good for seat mounting too

Re: dodge/chevy doghouse question
oh yeah almost forgot
i cut a access panel in the pass side so i could adjust or get into
the carb area without having to remove the whole side panel

slight mods and a chevy radiator will fit.. i THINK dodge radiators have the in and outs in the wrong locations to work easily.. but anything can be piped pretty much with a little fab work

Re: dodge/chevy doghouse question
Well there ya go Hemi. It's a good move no matter how you look at it. The extra space is always nice and if you plan on upgrading to a V8 at any time in the future you'd be one step ahead already... I only have a L6-250, but would NEVER pass up a dodge doghouse!!!

Re: dodge/chevy doghouse question
If you can, find a Dodge dog house from late 68-70. They had two clips holding the lid down and thus a better seal.
