Has anyone ever put a Dodge doghouse into an Econo PICKUP?
Chevy doghouse is too long for a pickup.

I've seen some Dodge houses in them. I took the Chevy sides and Ford ends and lid and made it fit.

Yes. The EconoCobra has a Dodge engine cover. Installed with rivet nuts since 1977 without any problems. 302 with mustang headers loves it.

Thanks Duane for the Econo /Chevy rendition box.

    Hey EconoCobra

I want to see that van at next year's Gathering of Earlys!

    Also, about the doghouse.

Did the Dodge doghouse fit okay with the emergency brake handle or did you have to slide the doghouse back?

I'm concerned about the length of the dodge doghouse...maybe hitting the back wall of my pickup.

Yes the emergency brake is in the stock location. I rode all day today and my picture files do not have any good pictures of the engine cover. I will try to take pictures tomorrow and post them. I am not very good at the computer stuff. Rick

I took new pictures the other day. I hope they help. The Dodge engine cover fits very well and is a easy install. The parking brake assembly is loose and hanging while I am fabricating and installing a wilwood master and proportion. Mounts in stock location. Rick

    Thanks for the pictures Rick

    Just a couple of questions..

What happened at the floor hump?
Was there a lot of fabrication?
How much of the hump is left?
You realize that on a pickup, most of the floor hump extends out the back wall.

Also, are you running a floor tunnel?

The EconoCobra did not have a floor hump. 1963. The installation was very easy. The radiator support, parking brake, engine cross member  are in the stock location. The Dodge engine cover has a cutout from a Dodge hump. Which I covered. I did cutout the front of the engine cover to add a tunnel. The heater is removed and not used. A saw and rivet nut set is all that I had in 1977 - 1978. I will include pictures of the ultimate Dodge engine cover in a Econoline. 1962 PU.  RickDodge doghouse in Econo pickup Econoc14Dodge doghouse in Econo pickup Econoc15Dodge doghouse in Econo pickup Econo_13Dodge doghouse in Econo pickup 1962_f11
