Re: van crazy 65 chevy
Like others have said I am interested in the window frames for the back windows. Mine were pretty rough. I sanded and pour15 them hoping to at least make due but they really dont look good. I was thinking of just getting glass put in the openings instead but really dont want to if I could find a way to make/buy the frames.
Looks like a major project you took head on! Really good thread man.

Re: van crazy 65 chevy
Matt will get back to you on the frames I have to master that. I need to make a better fixture and then I should be able to make perfect every time. Ya when I first bought it my initial plan was to drive first but there was just to much that needed to be done.

Re: van crazy 65 chevy
Well work has started again. I picked this fuel tank up from Brothers it comes with 30 ohm sender and straps. Item GTPDS66 on sale 189.99 it fits in between crossmembers and straps need to be reconfigured. I tweeked the neck on tank down and forward slightly to get it in line with the fill neck because fill is not in center like original. The fill is 1 3/8 and the vent is 1/2 same as the stock fill tube I picked up the fill hose at fillernecksupply.com there is a couple vent tubes not being used that will need to be pluged

Re: van crazy 65 chevy
Look's Great Van crazy....Just to make sure I am reading this write the tank fit between the cross member's with out any modification besides the straps??? and the reason you moved it all the way to the right is because of the filler neck..Correct..if so then I myself would just have to move the filler neck forward a little to put the tank back in the stock location where the 16 gallon was/is ...How many gallon tank is it??...I am just trying to figure out what will fit my 1ST Gen without drilling out the cross-member to relocate it. For me moving the filler neck is no problem...Thank's ..Joe....

Re: van crazy 65 chevy
Joe this is the tank for you the only mod I had to do to the was cut a little bit of the cradle bracket on front crossmember here is a pic on that and thats it plug the extra vents and you are good to go. And straps I was out earlier and I was able to shift it almost to center with no problems. You could probably do it without mod. but it will be 2" lower right now it tight to the floor witch I plan on putting 1/4 rubber between tank and floor to isolate it.Joe there was no need to move the neck I just put pipe in filler tube pried down and forward while taping on tank just under filler neck to help everything move easier thats it no fab at all.

WOW..!!!..."Looking Great" its come a LONG way since you first got it...I like the gas strut idea for the lid I have been eyeing the hood ones from a Jeep Cherokee they have the studs already in them just have to drill holes and come up with 4 nut's..The Van sits nice also keep up the "Good Work"... ..
