    Falcon Info Empty Falcon Info

Post by trado Wed Jul 03, 2013 8:04 am

New to the site and hope soon to be a owner of a vintage van. Have a guy that wants to sell a 62 Falcon van in ok shape for $500. I have not seen it yet but he says just needs brake work and wiper motor and probably would pass inspection so sounds like a good project.

My question is where can I find info on the "Falcon" vans. I have searched the site some and the net but not sure I found what I am looking for. Are the Falcons basically the same van as the Econoline as far as parts and everything? And maybe what years are interchangeable. AAny info or links would be great. Thanks Much

The Falcon vans were only different from the Econoline in trim and badges. The 62 parts will interchange with 61-64 and many parts will interchange through '67. Sounds like a good deal depending on the body, ie rust.

    Welcome to Vanning!

Welcome to VV. $500.00 sounds like a great deal. But as RIP said...watch for rust. Drip rails especially. Motors can be swaped out, but body work can cost you an arm and a leg.

Thanks guys. When you say drip rails are you referring to around the roof? I am hoping it is as good as he says.

Yup, around the roof. Big job replacing roof, Not impossible, just a big job. But if he says it would pass inspection, then it should be in pretty good shape. Most of these vans no matter what kind you get will have, or have had rust...so be sure to show us some pics whenever you can.

Don't worry I will definately put pics up if I pull the trigger. I am going to look at it next week. My 21 year old son is totally stoked.
