Re: What are you up to?
That's one heck of a Go-Kart you've got there Neal! Looks great and I bet the cable works a lot smoother than the linkage did, Right? Congrats, nothing like the feeling of getting on the road again!

Re: What are you up to?
One thing my pics did not show is that I also had to add a spring to the gas pedal setup. And, I actually get full throttle with it. But, the cable feels awesome compared to the linkage. That darned linkage was just a pain for me (although I am sure others will swear by it...lol).

Re: What are you up to?
Be careful that you carry a spare cable, they tend to snap. Also, most throttle cable return springs are a combination of two springs, one inside the other, as a safety in case the main spring breaks the lighter spring is there to pull you off of WOT.
Engine looks great in that doghouse!

Re: What are you up to?
I bought 3 of them (one for each van) so I guess you could say I got a spare. ;-) The cables themselves are fairly thick though. Thanks for the tip on the spring, I will see what I can cobble together from Ace Hardware later.

Re: What are you up to?
Joe,
That's the same type seat that I have, just a different color. It's the third row seat that goes between the rear wheels as the mounting rails are spaced a little closer than the first/single bench seat. I'm going to relocate the mounting rails on mine to place it in the original first/single bench location. Nice score. Scott...

Re: What are you up to?
Vanny, you probably dont want to get your information from me, Im a rookie body man/painter..the sealer,One wet coat inside and out, I used is a napa auto parts part 5201 High Solids Urethane Primer, that was on the interior, on the outside it would have been good as well but I used spi southern polyurethanes incorporated 2k sealer primer....here is a link to their website...http://www.southernpolyurethanes.com/
Another day in the booth, may get finished tomorrow? We'll see.

Re: What are you up to?
Thanks for the info Magic. Looks great to me! Can't wait to see the finished product. I just purchased a 66 Econo from Vanish and it was loaded on the truck today. I should have it in about 5 to 7 days!!! But who's counting? Me, that's who!

Re: What are you up to?
A long time friend/customer stopped into the pit and spotted the 64 and went into the tales of old vans and about pulling one out of a dealer junk yard and making it a driver. Van is long gone but for some reason he kept this seat stashed in a garage attic all these years. A parts barn find I guess .LOL
