I cruised through the Arizona Desert and was on my way up the mountain to get to Prescott, when at 5000 feet, my motorhome slowed down to 20m mph,,,and thats all it would do,,,I was just about to go into the Enchanted Prescott Forest,,,,,,,and this was the same place my troubles started last year,,,,,I was going to hook up an electric fuel pump where the inline fuel filter is,,,,or drop the tank,,,,or change the fuel pump,,,,or change the carb,,,,,but I pulled out the filter in the carb and was on my way until now, my tail and dash lights are out,,,,I will pull the 4 way flasher and run a jumper wire across the terminals and put the switch on to keep the rear stop lights on solid until I get another plan,,,,,

OK,,,,,the only room under the hood in a 3rd Gen van is behind the right front headlight, so I put a Hot Dog fan there to push the hot air out of the doghouse.

and,,,,,I checked out the fuel filter this morning,,,,that rubber check valve in it was stuck,,,from all that heat,,,so the only gas getting in was what the fuel pressure could push past the filter against its spring,,and that was 20 mph worth.....

Lots of towns along I-40 still have Route 66 running through it,,,,as well as I-55 in Illinois and I-44 in Missouri and Oklahoma,which is the way I will take back......,,,,

Cave man =headquarters!! likely just to keep people out of there.grafatti types & such=many states do that along roadside places. Usually if place is of any historical signifance there will be a state roadside marker.
