Re: Is something missing ???
You could put a cotter key in that rod hole,,,,,,you better put a spring in that outer hole and run it back to the hole in the crossmember

Re: Is something missing ???
Yes I know about the cotter pin. I asked the question because there was a washer,a nut, and then the cotter pin and I quickly figured it was not a factory set up. This being my first van I have no idea what was supposed to be there. If I only use the washer and pin there is alot of movement or slop.So I was wondering if maybe there should be a collar or bushing, spacer?
I glad you said something about the spring I might have forgot about that.
As allways Thanks for the info. ~ GK.

Re: Is something missing ???
That spring is important, it pulls the clutch fork forward, which causes the throwout bearing to back away from the clutch plate,,,,,otherwise the throwout bearing spins with the engine all the time and burns out,,,,so that arm needs to be a little loose,,,that rod cant be pushing the arm tightly,,,,thats the clutch freeplay adjustment,,,you should be able to pull the arm back towards that cotter pin hole 1/8",,,,,,,I guess that cotter pin is to keep the rod from falling off in case you blow up the clutch,,,,that rod normally is trapped in there and can't go anywhere,,,,

Re: Is something missing ???
Lucky for my van I have a more than qualified mechanic who helps me most of the time. So I probably wont get a chance to screw things up to much.
Thanks again for the help. ~ GK.
