What is the best way to replace the rear corner panels on 63 econoline ? I finally got me a van and the corner pannels have dents in them . I know how to weld I do it for a living so that's not s problem . Do you just hold the new one up there and mark the old one and cut it ? I new at restoring so any advise is great . Thanks

Re: Rear corner panel replacement ?
Yeah, you want to place the cut so the panel is perfectly aligned, and I'd suggest a cut inside the lines so you can file or sand the opening for a perfect fit (assuming butt welding).
Normally, this is done with a MIG and you want a consistent gap. You can use magnets or panel clamps to keep the panel located for the first few tacks.
Normally, you just tack every inch or so, allow to cool and tack again, splitting the distance. Repeat until it's fully welded, do not run a solid bead, it causes too much warping!
