My 64 econoline runs well but the voltage regulator is not hooked up. Does anyone have a diagram of where the wires go or know where I could fine a diagram for it?

1st off Welcome to Vintage Vans. I love this site.

On the top right of your screen you should see a button that says search, Click on it and type in Wire Diagram and there are a lot of threads on this subject.

    Heres a link

Or is it unhooked because someone added a 1 wire alternator to the van and just left the old regulator there ?

Thanks for quick response. I checked the alternator, it is not just one wire exiting the case. It's obviously not the original regulator either, there's 3 wires not connected, I'll use this diagram and see if I can figure it out...after I determine if this is the correct regulator.

I'll check next time I'm out there. Remember, we just got this van 24 hours ago, I'm still compiling a "grocery" list of things I want to do (tune up, total brake job, fluid changes etc...). I'm comfortable with those jobs but when I saw the voltage regulator I was puzzled as it ran fine (for sitting 20 years)

You never know what you will find on these vans,,,,you could have a generator or even a Chevy Alternator on or a Motorola one or a Hot Rod one instead of the Autolite,,,,,,
