Axles is the thing to check,,,,the part right behind the flange should be nice and shiny like a spark plug socket with no grooves worn into it,,,,,otherwise the van gets REAL noisy inside,,,,,and that 3:36 is the bestest one to have,,,,,,and they make ring and pinion bearings for that rear end,,,,,

Just thought I'd add some more info...
Got a rear end out of a 69 chevy van, Perches were 2 1/2" wide and the holes in perches with a quick measurement looked like 48" apart, got it bolted in a few hours ago... much better than that other pos that was in there, no more crooked u bolts or slanted shackles.
