    This is the Back side of my Motor .... I believe this was a Stick .. I'm putting an auto Trans in My Van .. Dose this Plug Need to be removed from the crank for The C4 auto Trans ???

    That is the pilot bushing. You will have to remove it so the shaft on the transmission slides into the end.

    Yes -Ditto- slide hammer or if can be maybe compressed air or grease filled hold & round stock that fits the hole - forcing the bushing out

    No transmission shaft, he's using a C4. The torque converter usually slips into that larger hole or the hole of the flexplate depending upon specific set-up. Good idea to remove the pilot bearing usually nothing will go into the hole but this depends upon the type of converter you have for your automatic. Check the front of your TC...

    if ya gotta remove a pilot bushing, fill the hole in it with small pieces of wet paper towel or tissue. pack it full of them... take a shaft that just fits in the hole, push the shaft in and hit the end with a hammer. hydraulic action will push the bushing out of the hole. it will take several hits with the hammer.
