Re: What are you up to?
Bill,
I cleaned the interior really good and gave it a once over with Rust Encapsulator:
http://www.ecklerscamaro.com/product.asp?pf_id=749023&dept_id=122&cm_mmc=Froogle-_-Car+Care+%26+Tools+-+Paints-_-749023-_-X
Then sealed all the seams:
http://www.levineautoparts.com/3m08405.html
And for the coating I simply went with a "Brush-on Bed liner. It's kinda pricey online but you can get it at Walmart for $45 a Gal. and buy your own small roller while your there. I got 3 full coats from a gallon, front to rear...

Re: What are you up to?
Been really busy around the house, did get the timing, and "running bad" issue fixed...........I think. The monojet carb is a wierd creature to get adjusted right! Hopefully its adjusted right now, time will tell.
Should just put a Holley 8007 on it with an Offy manifold and some headers!

Re: What are you up to?
Carb in the '68 crapped out yesterday, shaft going into the carb where the throttle linkage hooks up has side play and is letting gas flow out around it. At least it was nice enough to go out after Baker's. And I found it in the driveway when I was warming it up to lean it out a little. Thank goodness for a full time fan to help it evaporate and not have an engine fire the last time I drove it.

Re: What are you up to?
Today is "demo" day for the parts van, the only things left to take off of it are the axles when I get down to them with the saws-all. Sad to see it die, but it has a lot of rust and 90% of the body panels are shot.

Home with the 8Door Econoline!!! Extra body panels and misc parts out the tailpipe! Bringing home a 16x30 building this week from work (for freeeeee!!) to use for storage of the 8Door and the 67 Econoline and parts. Happier than Donivan with a sawzall in a Pik'n'Pull!!

Rip, How does one get a 15 x 30 building home? Sounds like one good sized storage shed, send in pics!

Sounds like some bracing, jacking, and back the car hauler under it, a couple of red flags on the corners and away you go. INSTA-Storage.

Re: What are you up to?
Dismantled... It's all woodframed on a slab. I'm leaving the slab at work! Replacing the siding and roof with metal and raising the wall height to 12' instead of 8'. Later, I'll add a full length lean-to on each side. This is not my future shop, just a dry place for my toys.

Re: What are you up to?
Dropped my gas tank today...OH MY GOD!!!! I couldn't believe the crap in there!!!! After a good cleaning found about 6 pinholes in the bottom. Had my kid shake the gas tank with a bunch of small rocks in it to knock off some rust from the inside of the tank. Looks like most of it is thick varnish from old gas. Taking it with me to work to get it welded up tomorrow. Sender was... well it was kind of there. No screen to be found. I found a small brass piece that used to be the float. I think I'll replace the fuel line all the way up to the motor as well. The fun never ends...............

Re: What are you up to?
WOW Kurt. You make me feel really lucky.. Somehow mine was spotless. Are we supposed to have screens in our filler neck or did that come to the auto world later in life?

Re: What are you up to?
Pulled front end. Checked king-pins and sleeves, packed bearings this morning and took her in for a front end alignment this afternoon... Much better. Pulled my sterring wheel for the trip the the JY tomorrow. Hopefully I'll find a really cool new one that fits...

Re: What are you up to?
going to the lumber store today to pick up plywood & some 2x4's. Finally going to build the platform for my futon mattress that's laying on the floor in back. LOL
Been driving the heck out of her. but want the bed done right for the up coming Van Slam in New Lexington, Ohio.
Besides, a spare tire makes a crappy pillow.
