Re: What are you up to?
Tomorrow I will be going to the DMV to get Esters VIN verified and get Cali plates. Then she will come home and will start her trip to become a daily driver. At that point she will come apart, get painted, and be reassembled. Then I will drive the crap out of her!
Time line............................unknown!

Re: What are you up to?
In the morning I'm putting new brake shoes all around on the 1967 No Door, changing oil & filter, draining radiator and renewing anti-freeze/coolant. (already did the points-plugs & cap/rotor thing) Then run her down to the lumber yard and pick up some plywood and 2X4's and 2X6's to build the bed frame in back. Pick up beer on way home.......throw steaks on bar-b.......kick back and crank up the old Sansui with the likes of Zeppelin and such.
Saturday taking the Spitfire for a nice 200 mile round trip ( top down as it's gonna be warm & rain free finally this weekend ) to go check out a 1961 MGA I'm contemplating buying.
Sunday got some horseback riding planned with the missus in the back 40......then more bar-q, more beer....more rock n roll...maybe start on the bed in the van.....
SUMMER HAS BEGUN! YAHOOOOOOOOOOO!

Thanks Vanish but I don't need any encouragement. I can get in enough trouble all by my self....

Re: What are you up to?
I found a little time to attach the intake/exhaust manifold to my rebuilt 250. Yay, a little progress! But, while tightening up all the cleaned and painted nuts and bolts I notice that one never gets tight. One of the two long studs that connects the intake to the exhaust. The more I tighten the nut, the longer the stud gets! I must be extracting it... Are those just pressed in?! The were wobbly when it was apart.
Too bad about David. Where did you get his autograph, Don?

Re: What are you up to?
Roy Rogers grew up a few miles from my house. His home still stands with a sign in the yard saying it's his home. They even renamed the road after him.
A little known story is how he REALLY went to Hollywood and became famous. The Old guys around here always told the story of how he was such a thief and got run out of this county for stealing horses and other shit. So he fled west...........Likely true or close to true.
One never knows what the true story is behind many famous folks.
Just like Ole KUNG FU Cain......... I doubt he was the innocent, wholesome human his publicists would like us to believe.
Call me jaded.......say I have a dark outlook on the world...............NAW...........I just like living in reality.

Re: What are you up to?
John Lennon was my hero, still is. He was 100% real and contributed so much to this world.
UNLIKE some movie star or such who is really nothing but a bag of unreal, pretend hype.
RIP John. You are sorely missed!
