2nd gen Ford camper went to my dad, he has been working on it in his spare time. He did remove the canvas and duplicate it in bright yellow... it looks good and he will be using it by spring.

Dad got several projects from me, but I did sell some nice ones.

Progress pics of Williams 4x4 coming soon.

Here is an aerial of dads place and the shop...

Well WideLoad,,,,,if you really are bored and have a lot of time on your hands,,,,,you can make a West Coast trip and get really up close and personal with this stump. I got a warning from the Homeowners Association that my yard was not green enough so I am going to rock over it,,,,,,then I will get back to that stump,,,,,you have not seen or heard the last of it,,,,,,,

I wonder how long that paint lasts,,,,,they use it on those foreclosed houses to cover the dead grass. I have no idea how long those roots are, but they probably go a long way. I see a lot of them down there, but they don't cut very easy. I plan on cutting a hunk out of each root I dig down to and keep trying to pull it,,,,,

Houses are too close! When I was growing up in Stockton, CA we would run the length of our roof and jump into the neighbors pool.
My closest neighbor now is 700' from me (mom and dad).

This is where I grew up:

Nice houses on wide streets but they do look way too close together. Is that even ten feet between them?

Carl, where did you go to get that pic? When we sold the house it was bought by two brothers and a sister, Rodriguez, Rodriguez and Rodriguez. It has been 15 years since I last saw the house.

Thanks for the trip down memory lane,

Rip, click on the picture to take you to the map. Talk about a trip down memory lane. The google maps street view is a trip alright. Click and drag to center the map where you want it and zoom in and out by rolling the wheel on your mouse. Select "Street View" and the streets outlined in blue indicate where it is available. Again in Street View you can move the view around the same way as the map but in an wild 360*x360* view. But like wow man if that ain't enough click on the arrows on the road and you are virtually driving down the street. I find it quite practical when I'm going some where new. The search engine of course is great being google, for example I just put in Basin St, 95215 and there I was. The exact addresses may not be on the money.
Carefull you can spend alot of time cruising around tripping man.

On a three week unpaid work furlough... company is moving all the heavy machine tools about 30 miles down the road... new place won't be up and running for a while.

So in the meantime been tending to odds and ends. Cleaned up a workbench in one of the garages. After I got the '67 Chevy van's brakes sorted out, been driving it on errands to pick up materials to fix this and that around the place. Re-installed roofing material over the house side of a koi pond - so the adjacent covered patio doesn't get all soaked by the winter rains and one can sit and commune with the fishies during the rain and not get all wet. Today I started in on the jungle in the back back yard - we have a 14' high chain link fence on the back of the lot that is well overgrown with english ivy. I turn the ivy into compost when it's all done. There's also wisteria and more ivy elsewhere on the lot that needs trimming back before the rains start. Then it's up on the roof of the garage and workshop to sweep leaves and such off, and clear the gutters. If I have time I might even try to slap some paint on some ailing fascia under the gutters and the face of one garage.

Van is running pretty good. Just checked the oil level the other day. I figure it's probably burning (or leaking) less than a quart of oil every 1500 miles. For an old motor that's not bad. I'll know more once I put 1500 miles on it. The gas mileage has improved since the carb/timing/rear wheel bearing/front brake repairs. It started out being about 12 mpg. Now it's more like 17 mpg, combined.

Showed the failed brake backing plate at our local Chrysler club meeting the other night. Nobody has ever seen anything like it. They liked the powder coating.

Stopped by to see Chris Wiggs yesterday. Got to see two of his Econo's. The 63 Station bus is super straight with bery little rust. The PU he has, has a very special feature that I have only read about, it has the low or short tailgate! Looks great and if in better shape than most tailgates. Also got to see some of the work he is doing on some chevy cars, he does excellent paint and body work so his Econo's are going to be something to watch for.

This is one way to post a pic here

    (1) click on post reply
    (2) click on the white square with the two rectangles one over laping the other (host an image)
(3)when that window opens click on the browse button
    (4) when the next window opens it will be the files on your computer, select the pic you want and click on the open button at the bottom of that window. That window will close.
    (5) Click on the host image button in the window that is still open
    (6) wait for the pic to upload then click on the copy button next to either the thumbnail or full image.
(7)On my computer the next window that pops up click on allow access.
(8)go back to where you want the pic and right click and select paste
(9)when the link to the pic is where you want it,scroll down and click preview.
    (10) Your pic should be there and then you can finish your post

    hope this helps you.
