put headers on my chevy 6 and need exhaust. stopped for price today and was qouted $350.00 for duals. no cats, no y-pipe, no fancy mufflers, just 2 round mufflers and about 7' pipe on each side. maybe i am wrong but i think thats double what it should be. anyone priced it lately?

summit wants 16.00 for a glasspack and 25.00 for 7' of pipe. evan with a couple elbows, i can weld something up for a hundred.

That price does seem a bit much for a muffler and pipe. But if they are doing it then you pay for there labour.

Re: anyone price exhaust lately?
i bought 6meters of 2 1/2" stainless steel pipe from our customer at my work a couple of years ago and it only costed 105$, a couple of 90 degrees bends for 20$ each and borla stainless mufflers from summit 120$ / each.
i asked a local muffler shop for the price if they made it from stainless with duals/dual stainless mufflers and they wanted 920$ for the fun...
its only about 1.5 meters of pipe per side with normal stainless mufflers....
asked a friend to help and we made it our selves.

i spent $60.00 on some elbows and pipe, couple hours welding it up and installing it. not really happy with the headers or glasspacks. headers are lower than they should be and the glasspacks sound like its a 4 banger with garbage can mufflers.

Re: anyone price exhaust lately?
I paid around $200 for dual flow masters & new pipes from exaust manifold back to front of back wheel wells. I just had a new muffler & pipe installed for $90 a few days ago on my 69 Chevy 90 van with a 6cyl. It comes out the side in front of the back wheel well to. I was very satisfied with both jobs!!!
