Re: the austinmodhouse 65 econoline
the 170 was rebuilt about 10 years ago, and has almost no miles on it (according to owner). it starts right up and purrs real nicely, but the clutch is a bit rough and it usually stalls. of course the brakes need attention… also needs windshield and passenger’s door has bad bondo job that cracked and that door is rusty.
but the wife likes window vans and this one is pretty solid and complete.

Re: the austinmodhouse 65 econoline
I put a request in for a decode. I'll let you know as soon as I find out. Looks great so far. I used to hate window vans but I have to admit I'm starting to like them. I'm also starting to regret selling that 64 Heavy Duty 8 door window I had. Between Carl's two vans, Jeff Royal's van and Dave Mcnair's Travel Wagon I'm starting to think windows. LOL.

Re: the austinmodhouse 65 econoline
I have never liked windows. Had one a few years ago and sold it. Now I wish I had kept it. They are starting to grow on me now for some strange reason.

The interior looks pretty nice. Does it have a dash skirt?

Lookin' good Paul. Is it a driver now? If so, you need to bring it to the Dog & Duck Monday night!

Re: the austinmodhouse 65 econoline
as the DCW sits, it was also dripping gasoline from the tank. I could smell it from ten ft away. I saw the PO had tried bondo/epoxy on the tank and the fuel filler hose was mushy.
the orange van had come with a spare tank. the PO was deceased so I assumed the spare tank was intended and that was the first project on that van. I restored the spare tank but the tank in the orange van was good. so I restored the original tank removed from the orange van and installed it into the DCW. and I had enough of that tough fuel filler hose leftover as well. the biggest hassle was scraping off the undercoating that was on the orange van.
I left the 200lb weight up there….

took the orange van and got it inspected today, then took some pics to list it for sale. can't keep two vans, I knew it would come to this.

Re: the austinmodhouse 65 econoline
I have no reasonable explanation, except the guy made me an offer to buy that was too good to walk away from.
I now have one window van that is family friendly, and one cargo van that scares children and most moms. and an extra van that I should probably get serious about selling, had a couple offers but we turned them down.
