That tube kind of looks like it came off a 3rd Gen Van, or a step van,,,,,,made to reach from above the radiator,,,,,,a pick up or car should have the tube next to the distributor,,,,,,and you need a matched tube and dipstick set,,,,,,cutting them down could cause you a world of trouble unless you had the fluid level
    correctly marked..........

yeah the dipstick was mangled thats one reason I didnt bother to try cutting it down and just got a lokar. That tranny was out of a diesel pickup truck.

But we are getting closer to knowing what we need,,,,,and surely a kick down cable bracket from something that has a 6 cylinder and a TH350 trans would be the way to go,,,,,,the 69 and 70 Chevy/Gmc have that combination,,,,,,probably other makes and models do too. HOWEVER,,,,I don't think Vanish needs it by this weekend,,,,or next,,,,,or next,,,,or next,,,,,,,

The auto linkage on the 1971-73 G-Vans looks just like the one posted here. Pretty sure it was 74 & later that had the different linkage style like your posted pic from a truck manual. Brad
