Be careful on the rims you ordered. That 10 inch wheel better be a zero offset or its gonna cause you problems unless you are jacking up the rear end with air shocks which will affect the ride.

Re: Carl's Econo
Welcome to the coolest site for early vans and van-ups on the net Nikki. I've been on the phone tonight with some buddies trying to decide the best route for getting you the panels you need to fix it. One way or the other we'll come up with them. I *may* have a line on some NOS ones but still waiting to here back.

Re: Carl's Econo
Thanks Big-W! Well for starters she's going to get the body work done, blasted & a new paint job in and out. I'm painting her Cream with Aqua & Cream two tone interior Vinyl of course, Carpet in the front & blond bamboo wood in the back, removable bench seat, all covered panels on the inside, headliner & a little larger motor maybe a 200. She sould be looking really nice in about 6 months.
Tim, thanks for the advice. I was talking to my husband this evening & I'm going to go with 15x6's all the way around because of issues with a spare. Thanks for working so hard to get parts together for me I really appreciate it. I'm going to need a metal glove box door as well if you have one also looking for a 1st row bench seat. I have 2 school bus seats that would work but I would prefer original equipment. Tim you are so right I have gotten more "GOOD" information from this site than any other. Thanks guys have a wonderful evening!

Welcome Nikki,
Here's a picture of your new van in better days.
This was taken at the Midsouth Meet on Petit Jean Mountian AR. I hope to see this van once again on the mountian. Glad it found a new home with you.

Re: Carl's Econo
WOW! Over a year and a half and no updates!
Last November I drove to Kissimmee Florida for the EconoFL meet, 1915 miles round trip.
I won the door prize, a caliper bracket kit from D&D Brakes. Also got Long Distance and Best Van.
And this week I finally updated the front discs to the D&D set-up (matching their master cylinder conversion that I installed three years ago).

Hello Carl just looked at your build thread today.!!!! MAN You guys really did a outstanding job the Van looks GREAT Love the camper also we had a 16 ft scamp for 8 years that we pulled everywhere now our New 23ft camper is too heavy for my Earley to pull and have to use our two 3nd GEN Chevy's . . What were they thinking on that old front end what a monastery. Great pictures of Econo Fest and your trip. I know Blue Lemon real well he shows up at a few of our Florida Truckin's yearly my favourite one is the brown eight door he has but I will always miss the Red Earley he had.!!!!!..!Keep Up The Great Work..........JOE VAN............

Great job on the van! That turquoise color is my favorite scheme for an early van. It just has that relaxed surfer vibe. Those pics with your trailer just set me daydreaming! Keep posting please!

Re: Carl's Econo
Thanks for the comments guys!
Last month I drove to Atlanta (McDonough) GA for the Atlanta Area Early Econoline Gathering. This trip was 1550 miles round trip.
Not bad time for the 700+ mile trip to Douglasville (just outside Atlanta)!
Pretty good turnout.
Picked up some hardware. Long Distance and Best Van (thanks to an overly kind host!).
Made a few 'pit stops' on the way back home.

He don't need em. He's got the Texas DMV over a barrel from a game. Gives him anything he needs paper wise.

Re: Carl's Econo
So after the window tint and such, how satisfied with the air conditioning are you? Would you choose a different evaporator setup inside if doing it over again? Do you think the condenser mounted underneath gets enough air flow?
