    Hey guys,
I did a search but didn't find what I was looking for. I just bought a small block motor to go in my 69. the guy I bought it from gave me a set of headers to go with it that came off of his 69 Camaro. Can I use these on my van?

I would "test" fit them. The problem with using headers from other applications seems to be clearance. If the dont hang down to far to be an issue, then use them.

Most of the time they messes with linkage and over heats the starter, save some time and go with block hugger headers

I'm running long tube headers that were for a 3rd gen van, but I'm all cable controls so linkage isnt an issue, but like the guys say, the block huggers should solve a lot of potential problems and I'll be going that way when I get these worn out. But it cant hurt to at least try "free" headers.

That's what I figured when the guy offered to throw them in! The big Charlotte Auto Fair is next weekend, so I may just grab a set of block huggers and be safe.

Why not just sell the free ones and put that money towards the ceramic block huggers Very Happy
I have a set of long ones (not sure what they were actually for) on my '64 no-door. I think they hang down too low. I will be putting on the ceramic block huggers mainly for heat and they'll tuck up under the van better.

You're 100% right! They are perfect for a stock to mild performance engine. If you're running ported heads and making big power you'll need headers. I have the Speedway Motors cast S/S Tru-Ram manifolds on my Cadi 385 HP/405 FT LBS. Perfect performance, but they had to be ported to match the D port heads and I had to cut off the left flange and weld a tube to suck it in away from the steering box.[img]Another header question.... For a van they would go in like a $2 ho as long as your heads have round exhaust ports.
