Re: BILLS66 VAN
Well the holidays are over back to work on the van ! I have had all the ceiling panels in place for a month and the other day I got the correct headliner material from a buddy of mine that does auto uhpolstery and a few tips. I pulled down one of the panels and cut and glued the material and just bolted that up .WOW it loooks great I can't wait to finish the rest.As soon as the rest of the material arrives I will have this done in no time. Re: BILLS66 VAN
Thanks everyone,This is a job anyone can do(even me).slowflapper don't know what the name of the material is but its a cloth type with the padding on the back.Oh and just to be safe I used a spray glue that is moisture resistant(picked it up at an automotive supply store).BALCONES1 The wood is a very thin luan that is water resistant that I got at Home depot and it is very easy to work with. Re: BILLS66 VAN
Bills66, did you only do the front disc brake conversion? I looked back and only saw pictures of front disc only, but I saw you had the wheels off front and back on the hoist. I now assume thats because of the custom wheels...Right?

Thats pretty much what happened to me, too. Well worth the $$$. Has anybody found a rear disc brake set up that works?

Re: BILLS66 VAN
This is what I used for the rear brakes. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/GM-Rear-Disc-Brake-Conversion-Kit-10-12-Bolt-A-F-X-_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQhashZitem5641f77e95QQitemZ370473926293QQptZMotorsQ5fCarQ5fTruckQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories
There are several things you have to work out with these kits. 1 the axle flange has to be filed down to get the rotors to lay flat. 2 You may have to do a little work with your E brake setup. One thing to watch there is to leave enough slack in the cable/frame attaching points because they have to go to the back to remove the calipers. 3 same thing with the location of the weld on tabs for the hoses. leave enough freeplay for caliper removal. Probably missing something ,but I thought it was a pretty easy undertaking. It will add to a low brake pedal feel , so read up onM1's brake system findings, he covers everything that I can tell.

Digz, Thanks for putting more crazy ideas in my head! If I was a little farther along on my van I would probably be doing the rear discs. Heres a couple of headliner pics getting close to done. Bill
