The plan is for Rich to call the shop to see if he can take his van home,,,,,he will call me and if he brings me a Roast Beef sandwich, I will meet him at the body shop and make sure he gets the van home,,,then I will bring him back to his truck and he can go back to work,,,,,,but now they say his battery is junk so I will take the one out of my car for him to use,,,,,so next try is Wednesday,,,,,,,

Yup, Wednesday is the day! This time for sure!
Aside from telling me to bring another battery, they also reminded me to bring door handles for the cargo doors so I can latch them shut, so they don't fly open on the way home! C'mon, do they think we've never done this before?!

They probably think you might have forgotten since it's been there for sooooooooooooo long! Don't forget, like Gothboy always says, "No pictures, it never happened!"

MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!!
My shiny new van is in my driveway!! Don and Scott surfing_guy met me at the body shop where we ate sandwiches and bolted on the parts needed to drive it home. Fortunately some long lost parts were found in boxes in the shop. I thanked the body men for all their work (and for putting up with me). The van started right up! (Battery seems fine.) Drove real nice! Smooth sailing on the way home (with a couple of stops that Don can elaborate on - and Scott can show some McGyver-ing we had to do).
Now I can start on all the fun little stuff on my van. In my driveway!! More photos to come.

A big thanks to Don and Scott for being my chase vehicles! This is always a good thing to see in your mirror:
There were many loose ends to think of and deal with before we hit the road. You tend to forget things after a year and a half! Like the fact that I syphoned out the gas that had gone bad just sitting there all that time! That was the only glitch. Not bad!

The caraVAN...
The proud owner...
And before Don says anything about me practically stopping in the middle of the road (speed limit 50) to take these shots, I will let you know that I used a stunt double to take these pics!
