Somewhere I heard that Hedman headers will fit but hang kinda low, I have Cliffords split headers on my 68 pickup. It does add extra heat in the motor box so if you do add headers plan on wraping them. Things get hot enough in there.

blood, blood and more blood!!!!
installing block hugging header require two boxes of band-aids and some brass knuckles and some special wrenches (for all those weird angle spots for header bolts) gr-r-r-r-r-r-r and a map of the shortest way to the LOCAL RED CROSS.I've learned that headers are NOT a diy project!!!!! next time I'll gladly pay for the install...........I really miss not being able to drag my knuckles on the pavement!!!!!

what ever you decide try NOT to remove the 4 end studs from the heads to install your headers. they go to the water jackets and are prone to leak antifreeze if disturbed. the little bolts from the aftermarket just don't seal, trust me. i have pipe seal on a couple of mine and they still seep a little bit on occasion. these are ones that were broken off and redrilled and rethreaded.
blackjack or dynomax were the easiest to install and yes there are about 3 different suppliers for block hugger style but the benifits from them ( blockhugger ) are not much better than 360 manifolds. my 2 cents.

Thanks for the heads up about the extra heat..... I hadn't thought about that, I'm not to that point yet, but I am am gathering my new stuff slowly. I think that they are going to get electric "cut-outs" when I do them so I can run open headers once in a while.

You can get small block mopar shorty/block hugger headers from Summit for about $150, I plan on putting them on mine eventually.

my 318 has old Hookers on it and they seem to fit pretty good but I dont know if they still make um.They dont have wrap and I dont have overheat issues. They have prolly been on here since 1970 ish.I just took a set off a van in the jkyd the doghouse was off so it was a peice of cake but the floor was trimmed justa tiny bit by the battery(the trimming didnt show while the doghouse was on)they look like the Heddmans I got for my B Van a while back.Dont know but they have a square 4 bolt flange on um.
