Scott has had problems with his cast manifold that I wise to avoid. I'm thinking steel headers are the way to go . Any thoughts on my idea, good or bad. And what fits under this dog house without putting a second story on, Any help? You guys are the only sorce of info I've got and I appreciate any and all of it. Thanks again.

If you are changing the intake & carb & going with something bigger I would go with steel headers.

That was my intention but I really want to avoid any problems and want to know what headers fit properly under the doghouse.Absolutly want steel,But want them to fit.Someone has done this before, What am I looking for ???

dont rule out cast headers. the stock manifold runs the lenght of the motor and bolts to the intake. slight warpage or mis alignment might of caused crack. cast headers are 2 seperate manifolds and dont bolt to intake, less prone to problems like the stock factory ones that only last 45 years.
