Re: A500 mopar overdrive ?
I have a 69 A100 PU with 360 and 46RE trans, the driveshaft is about 10" long, trans crossmember was fabricated and attaches to the crossmember and supports the bottom of the trans with a GM bushing. The trans is controlled by aftermarket controller that handles the OD and lock up converter

360 and 46RH in an A100
As requested here are pics of my build - 1995 360 and 46RH trans in an A100. A 46RE would also work , but I chose the RH so I could use an aftermarket controller for TC lockup and OD. If no controller, it works just like a Torqueflite.
Don't make fun of my little shaft !!! Its not the size that counts !! OK, got that out of the way... Ha! I just cut out the factory mount from the crossmember, installed the engine and trans, and jacked up the trans rear as far as possible. Then let it down just a bit for crossmember clearance. The pan was level, and the U-joint angles were very close, so I left it as is. I welded two 1/4" plates on front and back of the crossmember, and cut the two engine mount plates from 3/16". Used a generic GM trans mount for a 1990 Camaro. Bent the front and rear plates so they could be bolted to the crossmember and to the plate that the mount sat on. The mount was offset 1.5" rearward of the crossmember, so the brackets were skewed slightly. Once that all fit, I welded in the side and around to the bottom. Finished it all nice and powdercoated it. The top bolts through the crossmember use nylock nuts and are not tightened very tight as this would crush the crossmember. I didn't see the need to weld in tubing there. Then measured and had the driveshaft made. So far no vibration problems, but I cant carry too heavy of a load, that's OK.

Re: A500 mopar overdrive ?
Rustytoolss,
I'll email some pictures as well when I get a moment. Mounted my from above so it appears to be floating like the OG 727.
All;
On the A518/46RH/46RE, how hard is it you move the throttle valve? Mine has been very very stiff making it almost impossible to push the pedal down. I had to put a steel brace on my floor because the sheet metal was bending! Does anyone have a fish scale or any kind of way to numericaly test that for me?
My 727 takes 1 lbs. of pressure to move about halfway, and after that about 4-5 lbs til its fully open. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
