New to the forum. Great site. Was wondering if anyone knew where I might could source the bushings for the shifter linkage on my 67?? I was looking at possibly fabricating a Teflon block to install but would rather replace what is supposed to be there. Any help from all you professionals would be greatly appreciated. Gratchas.

The front are split top-hat like pairs, you push one in from each side of the lever arms and then slide the rod fork over them and put the pin in.  Otherwise its near impossible to press a grommet style into the arm hole.  These are available from a few supply houses and a similar one from Dorman, google around for chevy pickup shifter bushings.  Try here for starters, they list them:   http://www.truckandcarshop.com/6072.html  Page 65 shows both styles. The rear are hard rubber compound grommets with 1/2" ID holes and about 1/4" wide grooves.  They are harder to find.  You can simply use greased soft rubber grommets of that size from any hardware store, should be fine for limited mileage use.  There should be a pair of thin 0.031" steel thrust washers on each side of them to keep them tight and from getting chewed up, most vans are missing the washers by now but they can be found from any industrial supply.  Regular washers are too thick.  The E clip is what releases the pin from your shifter levers to get the bushings out.  Thick washers will prevent the clip from going back on. Search or ask around for NOS GM bushings, a few have them, I found a bag on eBay a while back.  Are you registered at VCVC?, check with member Macsdoghouse, he had a few gross sized boxes of NOS GM rear bushings and sells them to members cheap. Might still have some. Hope this helps.  Look at the diagram in the Van Shop Manual Supplement, it shows the different bushings and washers....

    Vantasia-
Thanks for the information. I will follow up with your advise and see if I can source the bushings. I appreciate your expertise. I've had three gen2 vans way back when (way back when) prior to finding this one a couple weeks ago. Man... so many memories. I'm so looking forward to getting this one back into shape so we can go cruise once again. :{)

    Thanks brutha.

I just ordered the same bushings for my 64. The shipping was almost as much as the parts.
