Re: I finally found one
On the lookout for disc brakes and automatic trans. I have not gone through it yet to make my shopping list. Once I get her cleaned up I will post new pics. Thanks for all the help. This forum is a great source of knowledge and tips.

Re: I finally found one
Hey Freaky, is that a Display Van? I see the windows on one side but in your avatar, it shows the other side as solid. Is that the same van in your avatar?
I love Display Vans, kind of the best of both worlds cause you have windows along one side and then a panel side on the other. Cool!
Also, when posting pics, if you don't want the picture to get cut off, use the drop down arrow to change from 800 pixels to 640, that should resolve any part of the picture getting cropped out.

Re: I finally found one
It is the same van. How cool is that. I didn't have to choose. I got the best of both worlds
Living near the coast, I am looking forward to chilling at the beach with privacy and sun.
I have been lurking on forum for awhile. You guys sound like my kinda people. I really like the support I read about getting these back out there. At 50 years old I'm addicted to the 70s era. I have been collecting and building cool stuff from when I was a kid. Motorcycles, mini bikes,3 wheelers, etc.
I was at work and will do better with photos. I was so stoked to share my find. I bought the van from this cool guy who used to live in Hawaii. She has a cool aloha spirit. Someone scratched a surf scene in a door jam.
It came with stock air cleaners(2) hub caps, service manual(never opened still in plastic) 8 ball suicide ball, battery box lid, turn signals lens(still in box) some other stuff. I drove 3 hours at night to see it. Gave him cash to hold it. The bought it in the rain. I had to stash it so my wife didn't see it. Now I need to clean it up before she kills me........long story!
The not good stuff is windshield is cracked, doesn't run (fuel pump he said) , no brakes, funky door handles.
Stay tuned. I will be ripping into her as soon as possible. I will share all I do and learn so others can benefit from my build.

Re: I finally found one
You made me laugh when you talked about breaking it to your wife...When I was on the hunt, I made a phone call inquiry on one I was looking into and my wife came back when I was still on the phone. She said, "who was that on the phone?" I replied, "It's Jake from State Farm"...She didn't find it as Funny as I did!!!
Just remember, Tarzan know where Tarzan go!!!

Very cool van! I wish my cab floor was as solid looking as yours. Mine looks like swiss cheese. Someone really needs to start popping some floor panels....
