Bought this van on January 16th and it finally was delivered to my work today March 18th Thank to the speedy service of "Turbo Auto Transport" who said 5 to 7 days for pick up could be 12, but 2 to 3 weeks delivery. Well here it is a full 2 months for them to deliver it. They said they did everything themselves. And it turns out they just sit at a desk and arrange through on-line bidding for it to be transported. The truth is three different towing companies and two different storage yards and an independent Import Broker who billed me separately. It took them 32 days to pick it up and another 28 days to deliver it. The one good thing I am happy about is no additional shipping damage.

So now I have just under $5000 into this van and its not even in my name yet.

And yes I do think that's a good deal for a rust free body

    The project begins!

If I ever buy another one I will be going to get it myself. These trasport stories are outrages, and I suppose there is nothing a guy can do, except waite it out. Mad

    Congratulations on the Van!

My shipping was a nightmare too, just not all drawn out over 2 months like yours. I had a tight window to have mine delivered to Phoenix AZ when I was back visiting from Texas and it was picked up late, lousy communication with the driver and delivered 3 days late on the evening before I had to drive back to Texas. Augh! lol

But like you, just glad it's done and not damaged in the process!  Smile

Congrats M1! Common story to a lot of us with transport companies. Mine was quick but had damage. Anyway, glad to hear it's in your possession now! It found a Great Home for itself! Can't wait to see progress pics! I bet it's gonna have disc brakes in it's future!!!

I am very happy with the van. My body guy says its in amazing rust free condition.

And Ya, I paid 1500 for the van, 360 for import and taxes and $2850 or so for the shipping from south of Denver CO to Vancouver Island BC. Now that I know, I could have made a fun road trip out of going to get it myself and at about $1000 less. So I recommend to anybody, If you can go pick your van
    up yourself, do it.

But in the end 5K for a rust free van delivered to my door is a good deal for me.

I will keep you posted with pictures of this build.

Glad to hear it wasn't stuck in customs hell. That can be a black hole sometimes.

I'm on the fence with that plan. I might get a different (gasoline)drive train for the 68 and sell my 65 to buy another for my electric 1st gen project.
