A couple of my A-100 Friends suggested I do this "Upgrade"? It involved using a late 60's Mopar Rear Defroster blower. I found one on E-bay and reconditioned it then did the install last week! The purpose was to get the Heat out of the Dog house and vent it into the "Frame Rail"! My friends had already performed this upgrade and I wanted to duplicate what they had done! I'm sure that this would work on ANY early Van as well??!! Here are my photos:

Re: Heat Evacuation "Upgrade"!
I have not tested it as of yet, due to the inclement weather here in NE Ohio, but Scotty & Dix have done the same upgrade and swear by it!

Re: Heat Evacuation "Upgrade"!
That is a nice install! Funny, I have the same defroster from an imperial and planning to do the same thing.
I was not sure if going out the back would be better, but it would be in the way. That spot where you have yours fits it really well, blower fits nice there.
My only concern is that the motor may not be explosion proof? I doubt it would be an issue, but sometimes i get some pretty good gas fumes in that dog house. I suppose the alt brushes are arcing in there too so what is the difference...

The motor is sealed pretty good, so I don't think that would be an issue! IMHO

Re: Heat Evacuation "Upgrade"!
it seems like it would be pretty noisy with a fan inside the cab like that. might be worth it though, if it works well!

Re: Heat Evacuation "Upgrade"!
I just remember the rear defroster in my 67 Belvedere being loud as fuuu, but it definitely could have been that my motor was going out or something.
