Dog house sealant ??

Do you guys use like a silicone sealant on your engine dog house ?? I only ask because, I have old silicone around the mating surfaces, and some foam type sealer also. I just bought my "A" last august . And pull the engine .
I can see were it would help control heat etc. But when you would need to pull the covers, sure would not be much fun..

I used some EPDM similar to this on mine. (Adhesive on one side.)

Hey did you use this stuff up the sides also, were the sides mate to the ends ?
