Front spring shackl;e/ lowering front?

Anyone know of a shorter shackle for the front leaf spring?  I am wanting to slightly lower the front of my van, and removing a leaf or two and getting a shorter shackle seems like a much easier way to do it than having the beam axle modified.  Am I on the right track?  Anyone have any hints as to how this might be done?
