Re: dog box seal
They sell the real stuff for Chevys on this site,,,,I don't know if it will work on a Dodge,,,,but at the wrecking yards,,,,it costs like $6 for the piece off an S-10 door.....we use it even though the vans came with a piece of rubber glued to the top, we just snap the S-10 stuff on the bottom section,,,,,

Re: dog box seal
What are you guys talking about? I fail to understand your conversations. With a little hint I have been able to judge that it is something concerning buying of a material used in vans.

Re: dog box seal
yeah it works just fine, you have to work it in the corners, i didnt use any glue to hold it on it fits tight, hard to close the lid for the first few times, but it seals great

Re: dog box seal
So anyone have the part number that you ordered off Ebay. I want to get some to try on my truck as it looks like a nice fit. just want to make sure I am getting that same stuff. Also Dodge Man, where did you get your heat shield from? It seems to fit really well, and I also need that.

Re: dog box seal
I just installed a door gasket/seal from a 2000 dodge caravan on my dog house. It seals very well and so far the heat has not been a problem

Re: dog box seal
Not to sound like a parrot...but I noticed you have the plastic fuel filter in there. Lots of fires caused by these things melting, breaking and so on. Just food for thought, might want to move that, and change to a metal one closer to the tank, and away from the heat. Vans comeing along nicely...whould hate to see it go up in smoke..as others in here can testify to this.

Re: dog box seal
looks great john, i also had to change a plastic fuel filter, the last owner had one on top the engine and used all rubber hose from the carb back half way to to the tank, it was one of the first things i changed, now i have all 5/16'' steel line and a metal filter in the back,

Re: dog box seal
I have my blazer seal on order. Hope to get it here in a day or two. Now to get some heat shield material. Pull out the dog house, sand down and paint and then put it all back together. can't wait to get the body work done on this truck.

Re: dog box seal
Hello VV, What are you guys using as a seal to the floor side? I like the idea of the s-10 blazer door seal for the top, would this also work around the floor side? I have a 61 Econoline Station Bus. I am also considering putting my carpet and padding underneath the dog house when I install finally, any concerns with that approach?
Thanks,
Van Hoosier
