retro sound and classic auto sound have ones that will fit our vans and they look great, but they start out at 190 bucks. all the am ones ive found have been priced pretty high.

Looks good Bowtie.I guess we all have had our experiences with dash radios and findin solutions.Mine has been cut and what looks to be peeled down with Channel-locks.So it at this point,I have to do a fix either way.

Mine was all butchered up with the hole too wide for a deck so I made an aluminum plate and polished it up to make it look cleaner. Building one in a console is a good idea then make a plate and mount some small gauges in the original stereo hole Shocked

Thought I'd keep this thread alive. I don't know what the heck the PO used to hack up the dash. My friend retired from the pawn shop business and has a brand new in the box Craig cassette player with input ports for the new stuff he gave me so maybe I'll go that route then I'll only have to weld up a few holes.

Its a shame how some of these dashes were done. But I guess the PO's had to improvise to the types of systems that were coming out at the time. And our predrilled all steel dashes didnt help matters any.
