Re: m1 brackets, anyone.???
Just thinking out load here.
A number of people have been inquiring about M1 brake brackets which has got me considering contracting a production run.
If you want a set or two of the M1 brackets then email me at m1dadio@shaw.ca
I will deside if there is enough requests to warrent production . Either way I will respond to your email after some time elapses giving others a chance to deside.
I will not respond to requests made any other way.

The M1 brackets are the ones with the offset? Or the flat ones?

Re: m1 brackets, anyone.???
They are not For Sale,,,,,,,I needs my Disk Brakes,,,,,It sure is nice to stop and stop Straight,,,,,,,I will never go back to drums! The Nova ones have not been made for quite a while now,,,,,and I really think they were for a Hot Rod. M1Dadio invented the M1Dadio/TransAm/2nd Edition offset types. Now if you guys email him like he wants you to, you might convince him to come out of retirement and fire up the furnace and provide some more sets. He is kind of your only hope for Chevy Van disk brackets right now. All the other parts, rotors, calipers, hoses, lines and proportioning valves are stuff off the shelfs at the auto parts store.

Re: m1 brackets, anyone.???
I think there are 3 pages of this drawing,,,,,each has different information on them,,,,,,,There is nothing really critical on these measurements,,,,,once you rough it out to fit over your spindle, you can
trace the 2 holes in your backing plate on it and drill it,,,, and then cut out a space for the caliper to slide in and then trace the 2 caliper bolt holes in it. I have been messing with trying to build a back up set of them,,,,,I traced mine on paper,,,,,cut it out of wood,,,,,(now that would an easy way to do it,,,,make one out of wood 1st,,,install it,,,,,fine tune it,,,,,then cut it out of steel). I traced them on 3/8" flat plate and gave it to VanAgain to practice cutting it out,,,,,,,I think I will let him practice on something else. Scott has done a lot of research on this,,,,,Like I said, those look like they were made for a solid axle roadster,,,,,we were trying to track down the manufacturer a while back. And I would say,,,,,The M1 brackets work better on a 2nd Gen because of the shocks and sway bar location,,,,lots of pictures for you,,,,,,,

Re: m1 brackets, anyone.???
Hey Don: thats the first feed back I have heard about how my brackets fit the 2nd gen. Was there any interferance with a 2nd gen sway bar with the M1 bracket design??
On the BZ bracket; why couldn't you have just flipped the bracket over to place the caliper at the front of the spindle as to avoid all that shock change up?
Would that work?

Re: m1 brackets, anyone.???
OH! I see in you picture that if you flipped the BZ bracket over the caliper would not be high enough to clear the steering arm.
Well maybe you should make a DV bracket that is a modified version of the BZ bracket that will use the nova rotor but place the caliper on the same location the M! bracket puts it! Would that eliminate all that move the shock nonsence?
Mock one up out of wood.
Hey Don the picture of the bracket with hole measuments won't open up to the full picture when I click on it, the others do. I would like to see the hole measurments if you could fix that please.

Re: m1 brackets, anyone.???
Man M1, you just never stop wanting to build new stuff,,,,,,,
Actually that 1st picture was kind of a base that I sent out with the template, so you would know if it was actual size if you printed it out.....that picture opens up for me, but there is nothing important there just the corner with a "B" next to it. A to B is just the diagonal measurement across the face, corner to corner,,,,C to D is across the face,,,,,those are just rough Maximun limits for a starting point. I will send you the exact measurements for you to ponder your next move,,,,,,,,
