Although I had brass fitting on my 67 Econo's king pins they still wore out and needed a machine shop to bore and campher (if that's the right word). I'd try the Delrin fitting because it is a very tough form of nylon. However, since std wheel bearing grease will eventually disolve plastic I'd only use the Delrin bushings with White Lithium Grease.

Good luck, please tell us what works for you, thanks!

i have gotten a few sets for diff vans from carquest
    part # carquest # CCH 8494N nylon
    carquest # CCH 8494B bronze
    last set i bought a couple yrs ago was 43.78 + 6.00 frieght(special order)
have gotten bronze every time, and usually a day away to get em there... but
each time sent both spindles and the new pin kit to my local machinist who "hones" out the spindles and presses the bushing into the spindles for me.. the pins fit GREAT , and would slide right in "like new" every time was around 30 bucks to the machinist to have the pair done and ready to install ..
    good deal IMO
LOTS of grease.. and twice a yr grease em up again is how i do it
