,,,Thats my buddy Harrys 1970,,,,,,,,its 2 wheel drive,,,,,just jacked up,,,,,,we put A/C in it,,,,,,,

,,,and its got our wonderful California  Vapor Recovery system on it,,,,,,

Where does that vapor recovery tie in"? will that van have a differen fuel tank?

yep,,,,,there are  nipples coming out of each upper corner of the tank to capture the fumes and burn them,,,,,,,,Harry cant afford to be wasting fumes ,,,,,he probably got the wrong gas cap on it anyways,,,,,,,,see something else you recognize, M1?

Doni, is there any way you can get a model number for that AC unit? I have a compressor and condenser already so I just need the evaporator #. Classic Auto Air is real close to me so I was thinking about taking my van to them so they could see what they're up against.

This was a kit,,,,,,,,condenser/fan was a unit mounted under the van,,,,,,,,,evap/heater unit replaced the stock heater in a 2nd gen Chevy van,,,,,,and I think this was the paperwork,,,,

Awesome, thanks! I guess I should relocate my condenser with a remote fan too. I have a spare fan.

,,,,we got enough troubles keeping our vans cool without having the condenser heat blowing into the radiator,,,,,,,,,,this kit has the package that mounts it in back of the battery,,,,,,,,,but any Fan/condenser can get the job done,,,,,,

,,,,I think this is just an Evaporator unit without the built in heater core,,,,,,,,,

Don , Was this installation done back in 2011 ? Think I used it as a guide for my own install . The 1st Gen dash threw me a curve . uncle Ron

Hey Ron, did you use a kit?

Don , Vintage Air didn't make a kit for early vans . We used the Gen IV Magnum evaporator  ( heat/cool }671400-VUZ . Gen IV control panel kit 492050 which mounted to the steering column bracket and we retained the original heater control knobs . The condenser/fan is mounted to the rear of the battery box . Don't have seats in the back so only concerned with keeping the front cool , and it does that very well . Can't post pictures and my gallery has now disappeared .  Ron

Don , Really wanted factory A/C , but those units are really , really , really hard to find and your van won't fit in the garage and I'd already filled the vent holes in my roof and I'd rather look cool than be cool and ...... Ron

,,,,but its good to show people what choices were,,,,,,,and still are,,,,,out there,,,,,those condenser hoses running down to the compressor sure were ugly to look at,,,,,,

I like that one Brent! Can't quite make out the rims but from that angle they almost look like the "Daisy" or "Coke Bottle" rims...I WANT those!!!
