See what can be done with alot of hard work. I almost bought this van before Joe. It had rust issues (too much for me) But not for Joe. He put a lot of time into that body work and did a great job. I was at this old shop about a year ago and seen up close the work he was doing. Joe saved a van that most of us wouldn't touch. Way to go Joe!!! Thats what this site is all about saving vans

Thanks Guys !! Really, I know it isnt all the way finished yet (probably never will be) Wink But I really have alot of people to thank for getting it this far, without my son-in-law Randy, I would never have gotten this far near as quickly nor as well done ! My brother Pat for helping on some repair issues and working with us on paint . One of my best buds with a small fab shop for loaning me his plasma cutter and letting me raid his short steel pile alot ! Also all "you guys" who have supplied Motivation, Ideas, Tips (thats a big and very important list) and some parts ( Gotavan). Also my wife for putting up with this re-born obsession ! The list can go on forever as Im sure some of you know. Since buying it and making that 1st visit to Baker's (Thanks Chris) I have had a great time and alot of fun working on it !! Van Therapy !! I hope I can return the favors.
    Thanks again, Joe

Probably just tinker on both for this year, still need to hang a tranny back in the 65 hippyvan and see how it runs. (horrible I hope, I like V8s), Have to strip the 66A100 van out for parts on the 69PU, Wife thinks I should go ahead with the 69 A100 first, The hippy van will stay low and slow if the 6 banger runs ok, The 69 A Im really leaning towards a stock type re-do, it runs okay as is ,, just looks like hell .

Ive been working on this set up for the past week, Think I have something I like finally.
    Digz's 65 panel - Page 12 Hinges10
A couple wingnuts and 2 bolts and up they go.
    Digz's 65 panel - Page 12 Seats_11
I have had the seats in and out what seems like a zillion times morphing this set up.
    Digz's 65 panel - Page 12 Cover_11

    Digz's 65 panel - Page 12 Cover_12
The center will be diamond plate and have a rise to it for clearance. And just need to make a cover for the electrical and put a couple quick latches towards the front to hold it down. Other than some tinkering it may be a month before I get time to finish this up all the way. Hind sight: I needed a little more room on the passenger side for the seat, it crowds the sidewall.

This is very innovative!! I know this is to give you ultimate access to your engine but did it also allow you to put a wider passenger seat in too? I must say, I don't like how cramped it is on the passenger side of these vans.

I've wondered if I could at least alter the dog house lid to make more room on the right. But that radiator brace is right there. Anybody tried anything else like this?
