Has anyone installed a Mustang II independent front suspension in a 1965 GMC Handivan and if so did you use dropped spindles?

I would like to!  there is a van laying frame on this site built by Jendros  customs  and they used a mustang II front end.

I did a MII with 2" dropped spindles on my Ford. I think it looks much better at ride height. You'll want to do a lot of measuring for tire diameter, suspension travel and crossmember clearance to ground before welding it up. The tires end up hitting the wheelwells pretty fast - especially in a turn.

You can get VERY low by flipping the front axle above the leaf springs and there is physically enough clearance below the frame to get the axle up high enough to put the rockers on the ground......without c-notches!
The primary limiting factor is the tires in the wheel wells on any extreme lowering scheme.... Other factors are the steering drag link and engine crossmember clearance.......
In most cases, anybody doing a radical drop is probably re-configuring the engine mounting and cares more about "the look" than whether they will have a comfortable place to sit....

The chassis is high enough up that folks have literally set it on top of an s10 frame stub and had to space it down to prevent the van from being too low.... If you've got the skills to do M2, a complete frame stub will be easier and cheaper...
