    REAR HEATER Empty REAR HEATER

Post by lboast Mon Nov 23, 2020 9:37 pm

I just started restoring my A-100 all window van. It has a uninstalled spare heater box with core and fan motor. My question is where is the factory location for this unit. the undercarriage has no holes marking its exact location.

Just anywhere back there in the opposite corner? it doesn't have any predrilled holes or indicator indents to guide the exact location in the corner?

I just received my copy of the Dodge Trucks service manual, and it refers to the rear heater as a model 92, that goes with the model 90 front heater.

the heater was not a typical install more of a special order
i would not install electric wires or heat next to the gas tank fill tube
the other side depends on the spare tire location where ever you want to run heater hose to.

I saw an interior picture on the internet that showed the rear heater mounted behind the battery box. could this be considered the correct mounting location for this accessory heater, or was the mounting location optional?

you can put it where ever needed, behind passenger seat fits well also just a matter of running heater hose and a switch location,
