Seats and Seat Belts Empty Seats and Seat Belts

Post by Stomper Tue Sep 22, 2020 4:04 pm

Funny how times change. I remember being so happy (45 years ago) that my '65 A100 didn't have any seat belts. I recently pulled the front seats out of my '69 G10, as they're in pretty rough shape. One option is to have them re-upholstered. I was wondering if anyone has found more modern, high back buckets from another vehicle that (miraculously) pretty much bolt in, and that I might be able to find at the wreckers?

Also, the seat belts could stand replacing. Any recommendations? Has anyone installed three-point aftermarket belts, and if so, is it a fairly easy install? Or is everyone just sticking with lap belts of some kind?

I seaerched using the Search tab at the top of the page and found the following thread on 3 point belt installation...

    https://vintage-vans.forumotion.com/t30448-3-point-seatbelts?highlight=3+point

Also used search tab and found this about seats used for G-Vans...

    Hope these help...

Thanks! Unfortunately, the links for 3-point belts from eBay no longer work. Anyone know the manufacturer of the set everyone seemed so happy with?

Great, thanks! Makes me wonder if anyone buys the NON-retractable version. Upside might be overall comfort, getting it adjusted to just the right length once and never having to do it again.

Remember freedom of movement like if you want to reach something you dropped or changing the radio. I have used non retractable in the handicap vans I have built for someone with upper body strength issues. probably good used in back for the kids seats. hahahaha!

My issue with most of the seat choices out there is that a seat cushion over two inches has you lookin through the top six inches of the windshield....
