3 point - 3 point seatbelts Empty 3 point seatbelts

    Post by mo_1040 Sat Sep 08, 2012 4:44 pm

Bought a set of these seatbelts and got them installed today. I think they are pretty awsome seatbelts, comes with all the shoulder bolts and plenty extra. Easy to install, used the long brackets to stiffen up the door post, bought a second set just to sit on the shelf in case I ever needed them for another project.

Let's see a picture of how you installed these. Thinking about putting in some safer belts in my 65.

The straps on these are long enough that you can bolt the retracters to the floor if you wanted to. I've tried seat belts from other trucks and didn't work out to well. This set has tons of hardware and installed easily. I'll get some pics of mine next time I'm out at the garage.

When I had my Best Top jeep seats out of the jeep I sat them in the Panel and the fit width wise very well. But thought they might be about an inch high after mounting hardware...

Here's one of the brackets that came with the kit to stiffen up the door post...pop rivets on....
    3 point - 3 point seatbelts Upper10
I also used the other bracket that came with 'em...had to cut a access hole on driver side. I decided to mount the retracters on the side of the bracket because I plan on paneling that area...

Bought my set this morning. I have a lot of interior work to do before installing them. I hope they dont interfere with the plastic pieces for the original interior.

Yeah, I'd like to see some install ideas on a sportvan with plastic paneling and the small triangle window. It'd be cool to channel a slot or something in the paneling so some of the belt is nicely tucked away behind it.

When I get mine I will make sure to take plenty of pictures for us Sporty guys that would like to install them.

**EDIT** I should also add that I have Fiero seats in the 66 and will be mounting the female end to the bracing that I installed for those seats. I made it out of 1.25" 11 gauge tubing which will hold up a lot better in an actual crash than the thin wall of the dog house.

I HAVENT STARTED ON MINE YET BUT I HAVE A PLAN USEING A 1'' HOLE SAW TO CUT THROUGH THE PLASTIC ON THE PILLERS BESIDE THE SEATS TO HOLD UP THE BELT AND BOLT THE END AND RETRACTOR TO THE BOTTOM TO THE LOWER WALL, ON THE FEMAIL I'LL CUT SOME 1'' WIDE FLAT STEEL ABOUT 15'' LONG AND MOUNT IT BETWEEN THE SEAT AND DOG BOX TO THE FLOOR,THAT SHOULD STOP ANYONE FROM SCRAPPING MY FACE OFF THE WINDSHIELD,

Shipping looks a little high $14.00 for a $9.98 item.
Is he a rip-off, or is the box heavy? $25 still cheap, are they worth it?
