Hi, I'm looking for an axle set of Rear spring shackles and bushings for a 1969 Gen2 250ci. Ideally someone who will ship to the UK but I can get friends to forward if not.

I think the rusty, ruined ones I have are original so I'm in for some 'fun' - if I can find some!

    Thanks

Yes Savage it is a G10.

Good idea re off-roaders Donivan, that may be how it goes, any thoughts on the spring bushings and tips for getting that top bushing out?

    Cheers

If,,,,,,you dont have it apart,,,,,,put a jack on top of the spring and jack the body up enough to take the pressure off and take the shackle apart,,,see if you just have these 4 rubber half  bushings in there,,,,we put neoprene ones in there and we have to use a sleeve for that 1/2" bolt,,,see what you got in there,,,,,

    Thanks Donivan

Good trick with the jack, It doesn't look like mine has ever been apart and I can see the crumbling rubber of probably the original metallastic bush (that's what we call them). I can imagine that the top bushing (through the chassis) is going to be a mission!

I'm definitely interested in Neoprene or Poly replacement, the only dimension I have to work with is that the springs are 3" wide - are the bushings standard parts?

You need to see what you got,,,,,,lots of stuff could of gotten changed in 50 years,,,,,springs get changed,,,normally the forward end of the spring has the metal cartridge,,,,,while the rear shackle has 2 half bushings on each bolt,,,,,,once we see what size,,,,,,hole,,,,,,we have in the spring and body,,then we find a bushing that fits,,,,,,and  put a sleeve on the bolt if the hole in the center of the bushing dont match our bolt,,,,I would say you got a 1/2" bolt,,,,,,then you can see if you can find a metal cartridge or rubber bushings for the shackles,,,,,or,,,,convert everything over to neoprene,,,,see if these are what you got,,,,

OK, I'll have a look. Hopefully I'll have the half bushings in the shackles to make life easier. Then Neoprene back in with sleeves.

OK, Unfortunately I don't have a chassis rail to jack against but I had a good look at the setup and checked that everything will undo.

So it would appear that I must have half bushings in the top of the shackle as there is not enough room to withdraw the shackle bolt between two chassis rails - the half bushings would allow wriggle room to withdraw the bolt at an angle.

The bushings in the spring both appear to be metalastic.

I cannot say for sure, as I never bought - I would expect them to as the part number crossed over to GM P/N 6272088 for 2nd Gen van front or rear.

Just an update on this - so far I have dropped the rear of the spring and removed the shackle bushings. They are the same top and bottom and there were no sleeves (I'm sure this made the job 10x easier).

The sizes look odd to me as I am usually working in metric and I haven't found any similar yet - do they look familiar to anyone?

    Thanks as ever guys

If only these thing came apart as easily as they go back together - 10 mins to replace the shackle bushings (HB-930) that arrived today!

Does anyone have a part number for the front bushing on the 2nd Gen rear spring?

After a struggle with rusted bolts I managed to drop a rear spring and the bushings I have for the front eye are way too small. My springs are the ones with 3" eyes that taper for the U bolts.

    The dimensions I have are:
    1 1/2" diameter
    3" external length
    3 1/2" overall length
    1/2" internal

    Closest I have found is: RB-98 Rubber Bushing 1.5 O.D. 9/16 I.D. 3 Length 3.5 Overall Length https://www.stengelbros.net/RB-98-Rubber-Bushing-15-OD-%C2%A0-916-ID-3-Length-35-Overall-Length_p_6879.html

Just the internal bolt hole being too large.

Is anyone familiar with this bushing?

    Thanks guys
