StuartG Tom (Millwright 71) put one in his 66 , when he did his LS 4L60 swap.
Worked real good for him. He did a post on his build . hope it helps.

Tom did a Great job on his 66 build. He also put a LS motor 4L60 in my 68-G0 I got from CA. Here's a pic of my shifter. Only (kind)cheep shifter ,with rear cable hook up.

B&M shifter on top of the dogbox is quick and easy if that's what you want....On mine, I'm going to use the top gate of the column shifter and lock the bottom gate where the neutral crossover (drop) will be in the "park position".... or maybe neutral (haven't decided yet)…. or maybe "drive"... (so many choices)
