This was purchased from my neighbor in 2004. It had been sitting for 20 years after being parked with a bad motor with only 40,000 miles on it. I spent 6 or 7 months going through it top to bottom. Fiber glass top was removed and the upper part of the roof was reinforced.  When they built these they just cut off the van roof and screwed the glass top to it. I welded in 1x3 light gauge square tubing when I did it. Then, I insulated the top and reinstalled it. I painted it with one part polyurethane. The body was in such nice condition, that body work was unnecessary, just prep and sealer and paint. I never rubbed the paint out and it could use it, but looks nice. Original color was white and mint green (same paint scheme, but that horrible chalky mint paint Mopar was using then). I also addressed the over heating problems these were notorious for by adding extra ducting for the radiator and adding an oval tube three row racing radiator. Engine was rebuilt, balanced, and blue printed. Transmission is rebuilt stock 727. All wheel bearings, shocks and springs, brake system, power steering system, king pins, were rebuilt or replaced. Interior is a mix of redone stock and custom. The front seats are Fiat X1/9 with shoulder belts added. The rear bench is Chevy Astro if memory serves. The refrigerator is original AC/DC and works. It has a small bathroom with a new, clean portapotty (not original and not nasty). The bed folds down from above the front seats (the original place), but I made it much stronger as the original install was super sketchy. ( I can't believe they got away with the original install). I installed an onboard air compressor for the rear air shocks.  My wife and I then went on a cross country tour after completion from Redding,CA as far as Allentown, PA and back-10,000 miles in 1 month. Only problem was every time you stop for gas (let's be honest, you do that a lot in this beast), you are going to have a 20 minute conversation with someone. It's like hanging out with a movie star or something, everyone loves this thing. We returned from the trip and the heads where bad.  I replaced them and 250 miles later, it developed a weird miss.  I'm pretty sure the crank is busted. A short block, some tires, and a weekend of work, and this would be ready to go again. I don't have the time or interest in playing with this anymore, and it's too nice to sit here going bad. This has been sitting since 2005 when it died. My theory is that this was a bad motor from the factory and I would replace it, not rebuild it. The motor has lots of goodies on it: heads (250 miles), MSD ignition, remote oil cooler, Mopar valve covers and matching air cleaner cover, MSD billet distributer, and Edelbrock intake manifold and carb. All the pictures were taken this summer, so they are current. Again it needs a motor which is reflected in the price. They made fewer than 300 of these. This has just over 50,000 miles total on it. You will be hard pressed to find one so clean without paying a lot more. As is, where is, cash in hand. Buyer is responsible for moving it ( I'll help with what I can ).
