I'm always keeping my eyes open for early vans that Don has not already found. I'm quite sure he hasn't seen this one!
Spotted this Econoline SuperVan TravelWagon on the Big Island of Hawaii when I was there over the holidays. Near Ho'okena Beach, a couple houses down from a campgrounds I stayed at. It's got rust from the salty air but the turtle top is holding up well. I was wondering how many earlies there could possibly be on the Hawaiian Islands...
A woman yelled out "What do you want?!" from the backyard. I quickly took my photos and shouted back, "Vintage dash vans dot com!" and got out of there.

So, did Scotty's van sell? That eBay posting was pretty compelling. It is a heck of a van.
It's funny, on his first posting about his van he said he would keep it completely stock! He made quite a few upgrades though. All of them really good ones though, like the 200R4 tranny and that Weber 2-stage carb.

I work in Carlsbad, but never saw this van. I do see a cream color nice Ford same year twice a week as I exit at La Costa... I am never up close to see who is driving it. Nice, if I see it I will get info for sure!

Thats me!! she's back on the road with an C4 automatic. I'm still looking for a the correct steering column if someone has one out there. I have it jimmy rigged and it works fine, but I would rather have the correct column for the added Dent in the column. Where sis you see me?? Power Plant??

I tried to get close to the Ford Blue as I could. That's the color that came out with a little mixing og what my painter had on the shelf.vanny wrote:Vantastic, the color shows much better in the big pic than your avatar...It looks Great!!! Can I ask what color that is?
