I did a test fit of my Hedman Hedders headers (#79036) on my 318 with an automatic transmission. Everything fits good with no clearance issues except one, the parking brake cable hits the side of the header on the drivers side.

I don't want to reinvent the wheel if I don't have to, has anyone else had this issue and what did you do to fix it.

i used street rod shortie headers so mine was not as bad ,
re -drill  the motor mount bracket closer to the front tire ,
and use a brake or fuel line from the mount bracket to the frame  to help
redirect the cable and get  it off the header .

I cut a small piece of steel, shaped it and drilled holes in it, mounted it on I believe one of the trans mounts or maybe the starter bolts I think. Its dark and rainy atm so cant verify, but the cable routes through a radiused hole in the left frame mount, and then it goes through the piece I made so it doesn't rub on the Dougs headers I have. I think you could just about improvise anything and it would be good. The cable just sits there for the most part, you could get fancy with what have you, but if you radius the hole you drill to replicate the hole in the engine bracket you'd be good to go.
