I wanted to exchange my wiper knob out for an original one I got recently at the junk yard. How do you remove the knob? I don't want to break it or the wiper switch.
Can somebody give me some instructions?

I was working on a 64 1st Gen dash cluster. Just wanted the knobs and trim rings. I got it out, Don helped me with some tips. I did not know about using the needle nose pliers to remove the lock nut on top. Thanks very much.

It was a 64 Chevy gauge cluster. I did not know how to remove the wiper knob. Donivan let me know about the lock nut on the top.
My van is a GMC 64 but I wanted some old style knobs to replace the odds and ends knob wise.

On the factory knobs there is a small flat blade set screw to back off. Same screw for washer knobs.

Can anyone tell me how to remove a wiper or headlight switch on a '62 Econoline before I go looking in my service manual?
