side widow channel track run Empty side widow channel track run

Post by rustytoolss Sat Mar 10, 2018 9:09 am

My 64 pickup has worn out window track guide material/window fuzzys. The stuff thats worn out' is of a ridged type that has chrome beading. Which goes into 3 sides of the widow tracking frame work.
Is the ridged backed fuzzys, the orignial stuff use by dodge in 1964 ? The stuff I see offered by parts suppliers now a days, is of a flexible rubber/flocked material. Does this newer type stuff fit right and work well ?
I'm a bit confused about this. Could someone post some pics of their window track guide fuzzys installation . Any input/picture would be great . Thanks
Also info about the door glass scraper/beltline parts. Thanks again Smile

I am getting ready to replace these on my '67 too. I was probably going to order from this site: http://www.restorationspecialties.com/Products.html
Don't know if this helps at all, but hopefully it does.

So is this material ridged ? or of a more flexible/rubber based product ?
I'm looking for information about the rubber based product. How well did it fit/work ??

I have not done it yet, and a leaking master cylinder says I won't be doing it for a bit longer. They have the scraper type pieces, but I'm not sure about what style window channel they have. They list an a100 kit with a whole bunch of parts, and window channel is listed, but it's not clear. I have not tried to contact them for clarification.

I bought a set of "catwhiskers" from restosupply & spec. 12 years ago and they were flex rubber with metal clips that fit very well. I had my pick-up out in the rain for a trip to Lowes today and they still drag on the glass, which is good. cheers
